WHAT IS PHOTOAGING
Photoaging is a specific skin aging status, provoked by a chronic damage of the skin done by the UV rays and sun exposure.
As time passes, the exposure of the skin under the sun provokes serious damages to skin cells’ DNA. These damages are added to those caused by biological aging.
Photoaging causes a rapid degradation of collagen and is characterized by:
– Deep and diffused wrinkles
– Lack of elasticity, dry and rough skin
– Spider veins on the cheeks, nose and ears
– Spots caused by the sun and damages that might cause skin tumors
